13-year-old girl victim of sexual offence on bus in Everton

Merseyside Police has issued CCTV images of a man who may have information to assist enquiries into a report of a sexual offence on a bus in Everton.

The offence was reported to Merseyside Police at around 5.20pm on Monday 3 April and occurred on a number 17 Stagecoach bus that was travelling on St Domingo Road.

It was reported that a 13-year-old girl was the victim of the sexual offence and the male suspect left the bus and fled on foot towards Kirkdale Vale.

Since the incident, officers have carried out extensive CCTV examinations and witness enquiries.

Merseyside Police believe the man pictured could have information to assist with the investigation.

Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said, “This would have been very traumatic for the young girl and we are determined to find the person responsible. Everyone should be able to use public transport without the fear of being subjected to an incident like this.

“We think the man pictured may have vital information that could help our enquiries so if you know him, please come forward as soon as possible.

“If you were on the bus or recognise the man, then do let us know as any information you hold could support our enquiries.”
